Brian Gorbett has been with Microsoft over 10 years responsible for engaging technology startups, accelerators, and all those that foster the growth of startups. As a former founder, he mentors entrepreneurs building on the latest technologies and advises tech startups on the latest software architecture and business development opportunities. Gorbett currently cares for Microsoft’s startup initiative for the West Coast of the US and actively seeks out passionate technology startups with innovative ideas. An active developer and hacker, he has contributed to national publications on software technologies and still tries to find time to get his own ideas into code. Prior to leading the West Coast startup initiative, Gorbett was responsible for investments in the US, North, Central, and South America with Microsoft Ventures. Before joining Microsoft, Gorbett built out Google’s startup program and team. Prior to that he led a team of developers and designers responsible for delivering next generation apps as an acquisition of his last company. Gorbett resides in San Mateo, CA and offices out of San Francisco and Mountain View.
